Tommy Chong: ‘I’m Cancer-Free!’

Tommy Chong

“After I came out with the news last June that a cancer doctor told me I had prostrate cancer and suggested a high frequency treatment that is not approved in America and could only be done in Mexico at the cost of $25,000, I immediately looked at alternatives.

I contacted my nephew in Vancouver, who was about to become a doctor, and he suggested I meet with a Dr. McKinnon in Victoria, BC. That doctor changed my diet and put me on supplements, and within a year I brought my PSA numbers down drastically and eliminated the cancer threat.

I also treated the condition with hemp oil (hash oil). With the diet, the supplements and the hash oil, plus a session with a world-renowned healer, Adam Dreamhealer, I’m cancer-free.

That’s right, I kicked cancer’s ass!

So the magic plant does cure cancer with the right diet and supplements. I’m due for another blood test, MRI, etc., but I feel the best I’ve felt in years. And now for a celebration joint of the finest Kush…”

Comedian Tommy Chong fighting prostate cancer – CNN

“(CNN) — Tommy Chong, one-half of the marijuana-loving “Cheech and Chong” comedy duo, is battling prostate cancer, he announced Saturday on CNN.

Having first noticed symptoms about eight years ago while incarcerated for selling drug paraphernalia, Chong said he was diagnosed “about a month ago.” He revealed his condition in an interview about his support for decriminalizing marijuana use and sales.

“I’ve got prostate cancer, and I’m treating it with hemp oil, with cannabis,” he told CNN’s Don Lemon. “So (legalizing marijuana) means a lot more to me than just being able to smoke a joint without being arrested.”

“So I know it had nothing to do with cannabis,” he said. “Cannabis is a cure.”

He and his on-screen partner Cheech Marin recorded a series of hot-selling comedy albums in the early 1970s, before hitting the big screen in 1978 with “Up in Smoke.” It was the first of several “Cheech and Chong” films chronicling the adventures and misadventures of the stoner pair. The two continue to tour as a comedic act, with shows scheduled for later this month and the fall, according to their official website.

Besides the “Cheech and Chong” films, Chong has appeared in several TV series, such as “That 70’s Show.” He’s authored several books including “The I Chong: Meditations from the Joint” about his “family business” specializing in handmade bongs, arrest and nine months in federal prison, according to his and Marin’s website.

Chong, 74, explained to CNN that he doesn’t smoke marijuana, which he said he’d quit about a year ago “for health reasons,” to treat his prostate cancer. Rather, he said the ingests the hemp oil “at night, so I won’t be woozy all day.”

“I’m taking it as a medicine,” he said.”

Marijuana mouth spray for cancer patients tough to abuse – NBC

Image result for nbc news vitals

“The medical marijuana drug Sativex, which could be approved in the United States in the coming years as a treatment for pain relief, has little potential for abuse, experts say.

The British pharmaceutical company GW Pharmaceuticals is currently testing the drug, which is delivered as a mouth spray and called Sativex, in clinical trials. The company plans to seek U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for the drug as a treatment for cancer pain when the trials are completed, likely sometime in 2014, a spokesperson for GW Pharmaceuticals told MyHealthNewsDaily.

The active ingredients in Sativex, known as cannabinoids, are derived from the cannabis plant. It is the first marijuana-based drug to be made by extracting the compounds from the plant, rather than synthesizing them. Two other drugs, Marinol and Cesamet, based on synthetic cannabinoids, were approved by the FDA in the 1980s.”

Medical Cannabis Treatment for Cancer and HIV/AIDS ?

“Benefits of Medical Cannabis”

medical marijuana

“Today, there are at least 17 states, including the District of Colombia, where cannabis is legal. Ohio, South Carolina, Colorado, New Jersey, California, and Michigan are just a few states that garnered strong support in the legalization of  medical cannabis. In Illinois, a bill legalizing the use of  cannabis needed the signature of Gov Pat Quinn. The legislation was approved by House and Senate, permitting doctors to prescribe cannabis for cancer and patients with HIV/AIDS and other diseases…

There is now quantifiable evidence that cannabis is beneficial in treating many disorders…

Moreover, the Medical Cannabis Research and the University of California found out that cannabis can treat HIV/AIDS and multiple sclerosis symptoms. It can even benefit cancer patients to mitigate the unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy or as an alternative treatment for cervical cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, brain cancer, and leukemia.”

Cannabis Linked to Decreased Bladder Cancer Risk

“The use of cannabis among men has been linked to a significantly decreased risk for bladder cancer, according to a recent study; however, no cause and effect association has been found.”

“The study, presented at the AUA 2013 Annual Meeting, found that men who reported using cannabis had a 45% lower risk for developing bladder cancer compared with men who did not smoke, even after adjusting for age, BMI, and race/ethnicity.

“Bladder cancer is one of the most prevalent genitourinary malignancies with an estimated 72,570 new cases and 15,210 cancer-related deaths per year in the United States, and it is the fourth most common malignancy in men,” Anil Thomas, MD, study author and endourology fellow at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, said in an e-mail communication. “Importantly, advanced bladder cancer is inherently challenging to treat due to its associated high mortality and lack of effective systemic therapies.””

“Association Between Cannabis Use and the Risk of Bladder Cancer: Results From the California Men’s Health Study… using tobacco only was associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer, whereas cannabis use only was associated with a 45% reduction in bladder cancer… cannabis use may be inversely associated with bladder cancer risk…”  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25623697
